Finally, the city council is made up of a variety of local business owners or professionals who use their connections to broker deals that are morally corrupt. Pawnee has some of the worst local history that many in the town ignore or exploit for their own gain. Each town hall meeting ends up like a social debate with one person disagreeing and everyone else piling on. Yet a few aspects of Pawnee are a commentary on society as a whole. The town has a few major employers who are either terribly problematic, like Sweetums, or hallmarks of the town, like Kernston’s Rubber Nipples. Parks and Rec certainly shows a small town in the Midwestern region of the United States in an exaggerated but positive way. While they may not have the amenities of metro areas, many people who live in these areas find solace in the ease of their daily lives. Even under the best circumstances, small towns are typically depicted as less progressive. Small towns are often the butt of the joke. The two go into business together and despite its failure remain friends. As the son of a local doctor, Jean-Ralphio is all hype with no morality while Tom is mostly morality and all hype. But one of the men’s friendships is in complete chaos: Tom and Jean-Ralphio. Most men’s friendships in the series are odd couples: Ben and Chris, Ron and Tom, Jerry and Ben, and Andy and Ron. Women's friendships may be centered but friendships between the men on the show are just as important. The celebration occurs on February 13th over lunch, where Leslie and her gal pals celebrate one another. Yet before Leslie met Ann, she celebrated the holiest of holidays: Galentine’s Day. While audiences meet her cousin, the musician known as Ginuwine, it’s not until Season 7 at Donna’s wedding that we meet Lavondrius (Quest Love) in a very dramatic scene. When a show becomes successful, finding comedians or actors to appear on the show is hardly a difficult task.
